Misdirected Patriotism

Patriotism - it means loving your country..Loving your country more than anything else

It doesnt mean - Hating other countries, killing people in the other countries, mistreating people in the other countries, not allowing people from other countries to enter your countriy, treating the people in your country like VIPs and others like they are limbless bastards, insulting people in your neighbourhood country so that you can glorify your national pride.....

FUCK IT : We are all just people..Just lame people who are after our own happiness..If i have a gun pointed to your head , you are just going to give me a cheap shot in the groin and gimme a taste of my own bullet..even if i am your brother, your mother/ your sister.....
We have no claim over our motherland. We have no claim over anything. The only claim we can make is our right/duty to protect our loved and dear ones.Unless and until it can mean death to your loved one , you shouldnt just give a FUCK...

Law and Order : We  india are a very huge country..Bringing in people like pakistani batsmen, if at all , can only pose a security risk and not a risk to our national pride. What if pakistanis were involved ? Havnt we indians killed too ? Havent we sinned too ? Its the sin we must hate and not the sinner..Even if you wanna hate the sinnner , dont hate the sinners country..

I am not a pakistani supporter..I am not a chauvinist either..But i dont see the difference between the life of a human here and the life of a human there....If he wants to play for a club here, i dont see anything except glorified / meaningless indian chauvinism coming in the way...ShahRukh Khan is justified for what he did....I will justify anyone who stands up for a human cause.

PS : I thought these things were obvious...Until i had a very heated argument about his with my friends , with many wanting to just support IPLs cause..WTFed ..really...

nicely written..i appreciate your value neutral approach..well in the past few months i have come across many(bloggers also) who speaks along the same line with great sensibility and logic but lately i understood that when met with real life situation these guys would pee on their pants.Their value neutrality vanishes in thin air irrespective of the topic of discussion viz patriotism, regionalism, communalism, issues related to religion, caste or gender.I hope this blog/blogger is not so...

How can there be humanity when people have lost their identity as human beings? I share your views ... but I don't know how any change will materialize ... :-|
