bezier must die

Its funny how when you want something so much , someone out there in the universe decides to make it a little more "interesting" by throwing in a bunch of crap aimed right at you.Oh heck yeah...Computer graphics , and  bezier curves...and other math , and other polynomials ,and linear algebra... i love you god. i truly do. i dont want to see your face right now ! (thats right . for now..dont send me to hell though..)

the bing way

I have always been bashed up due to my irresistibly irritating nature of cracking a joke as a follow up to every question or comment someone makes. I am wondering if this is a reallly really bad thing or if its just one of those things people like to stop you from doing because they are not used to someone doing it.I mean.I am ethically confused here. I know that i am not a very very funny guy or something.I am sure that i do make some people laugh. If people are laughing to please me , its their problem.I also happen to know that i do have an excessive tendency to do it, but its the only way i usually manage to get my point across, and sometimes, with pinch of bad humour/sarcasm if you will. It seemed to work fine until i started finding a bunch of people , adding to an ever growing list of "no sarcasmoers" .. Life as it was , officially rocks , and life as it IS , might start officially sucking.Time to say goodbye to chandler bing like ( ok i knw the comparison is too much , but just like he said.."i like to use humour as a defence mechanism") stuff or not ?

Still confused

- A confused man.

this PETA thing.

There was a time in my childhood when i was an animal rights lover. Then i grew up. I still think that animals have their rights.Yes they do.But in this course of growing up , i also realized that humans have their rights too.So when i see a PETA ad/ commercial that says "would you eat your dog for thanksgiving ?  then why the turkey?" I only have one thing to ask them.."Did you guys evolve from martians ?" .I mean, come on guys ! We are freaking omnivores ! We were born that way , and sadly this is how nature works ! You cant stop someone from eating meat by using cheap emotional blackmail.I am not saying that PETA is not doing anything good. Its just that they have started acting like the NEWS TV channels that start putting up soft porn kind of news when they have nothing to talk about ( rakhi sawant smooch scandal for example).

Its about time that PETA started looking a lil bit into the deep multi-species shit that they are in ( uumm smelly uh) , and realize that they are treading a very fine line between being stupid and being completely credible. There is going to be sometime in the future where they are going to turn into a nonsense group if it keeps going like this. And it would be rather interesting to see how this is going to look like.May be something like this .

- PETA comes up with a new resolution that its not just enough that they have turned almost every meat/beef loving mallu and every karuvadu loving tamilian into a vegan (yeah..vegan.not vegetarian) ,and its equally important , in places like india, where plants are molested to their Nth degree; that they come up with some kind of legal protection for plants as well.
- To follow up this truly "vegetable" idea,
a. No vegetarian shall ever touch , boil , cut leaves or plants
b.He shall eat vegetables , but shall ensure that once he consumes them , he shall either make sure that the seeds go where they are supposed to , and not the trash / the visceral post-processing units and plumbing.
c.If seeds are not eaten , they shall be treated like newborn babies , and shall be either buried near a well lit , fertile area (soil ie) , and not under any circumstance will allow it to be cooked ( jackfruit seed curry) or baked (like cashews) or be brewed ( like coffee ( or beer? )).
d.He shall eat fruits as well , provided he makes sure that for every fruit he eats, he places the subsequent resulting residue (seeds) in areas similar to those in clause b.
e.Drinking honey is not under any act.As long as you are keeping the honey bees happy. (This could be hard to determine , deterministically .
f.No rice , no wheat , no flour.No cereals.
g.America will now declare Pizza a vegetable in all districts, not just schools , to stop kids from skipping classes to plant their seeds.
h.To avoid confusion about how to make pizzas out of non-grain materials , please wait for "Organic Pizza Manual volume I".I can assure you that this should not take more than 1 year. Most scientists have quit their jobs to cure cancer, and have started working on this , since this is a matter of utmost , national and international stature.
i.Hummingbirds and honeybees shall be our new mascots, since they not only suck honey out of flowers without harming them, but also aid in cross pollination. (Federal law states that humans shall not try cross pollination with other species. But we really dont care about humans. We only care about animals.)

ANNEX : In the long term, we do realize that there might be a problem with people dying and all that with symptoms similar to famine. We do understand that this could be a problem for you humans. But then, in the long run, we are planning to turn monkeys into "socially aware" creatures as well. This means that they might actually stop eating "bananas" and start eating some of the other things that they dont like eating. This case, we all get to have bananas...Go bananas !

PS : This is a frustrated human being.
PPS : This is a frustrated vegetarian.

History with Math

A lot of people like math, and more than an equal total of people hate it. Not because math sucks or is insignificant in your life.It is pretty significant. Its a way of measuring how things work , and putting it down on paper. Its almost like reprogrammable logic if you will

But enough of bullshit, lets talk why people could hate math..these are mixed with my experiences + some hypothetical / situations that i have come across in my life as well.

Reason 1:  You have an awesome teacher who keeps telling you how awesome math is , but not why.

Reason 2:You are a tamil brahmin, and in your family getting something lesser than a 100 for math is considered to be stupid , and you just dont understand why they like math ( they never bother to tell u anything beyond the fact that they come in handy for stuff like plan drawing, bank accounting etc..oh come on !)

Reason 3: If you are good at math , you were considered a genius, but if you were good at something like painting , you were considered to be a "good painter" , who gets attention only in his painting class that happens once in a week , and mostly that is going to be replaced by an extra math class to cover the syllabus...So math played the bitch , and kicked all the artists out.Bad Math !

Reason 4: It helps in getting your hands tired, and worst of all ,these things that you solve (like 25 problems a day !) , are things you don't even bother to remember. Math was all about practice from grade 1 to grade 12 and beyond..Not at all what a subject of such scientific caliber should be treated like...

Reason 5:  Its that one subject where you are constantly learning things that you dont see in the real world..visually ,its just not there .. remember integrals ? did u like em until they taught you how to apply them ? And that was a chapter ? And that chapter is only carrying 6 marks , and so u decide to skip it  ? Or do you remember the curves ? single lines , etc ?  You dont get to  surface integrals until you reach college, and mostly , by that time u hate math enough to actually not have any interest in anything they teach you in that class.

PS : Some of this might only apply / most of it rather , only to our education system..the indian system. I think its high time we changed it before kids actually give up on something as awesome as math can be.Its all about grooming them to like it , by using the right approaches. i hope someone out there gets the hint.

Looking back, looking at myself , looking at my writing

My VR (virtual reality) , class is something that i am supposed to be paying attention in.However , since most virtual reality classes end up being presentations, done by my classmates , my mind has the tendency to digress. One of the major prop (read awesome !) about the VR class though is that we get to discuss graphics , and most of the graphics that recently enrolled grad students know about it Games ! The presentation covered everything from the latest final fantasy game to the good ol days of the game "Crash : Bandikoot". It was definitely a good memory since i kind of realized that i was really rooted to computer science from an early age. However i had always shied away from it , more so due to the fact that i found coding insanely hectic to be sitting in a place and writing something that did not make too much sense in the beginning. It was more of a churn than anything else for me.Now that i look back , i do not regret much for playing so many games as a kid.I definitely intend to turn this hobby of mine into a skill that i might be able to develop in a long run, that can help me create something better may be.The climb is pretty hard , in terms of its technical demands , but then its something that i am going to have to churn out.

At around the same time of my school life , i was also a self proclaimed "biologist". Thanks to a lot good stuff that my dad had around my house , i was pretty much good at telling a platypus from a duck , and a cappybara from a mouse , by the time i was 12 or 13. Though i feel that one of the major mistakes that i had made going to college and doing computer science , was in ignoring my interests in biology, i kind of realize that i was just the same back then. I had multiple interests , and i was never really good at choosing what i wanted , and for sure i still need to work on it.
Talking about work , another couple of things that need work are my skills at getting organised , and pulling it together in terms of concentrating on my tasks.I am pretty sure that a lot of people face this problem as well. However there was no reason for me to break out of this very popular mode until i realized that i needed as much time as possible so that i could work on things that i liked , and possibly do more than most people think or judge the popular time-frame for doing things are.I am glad that i am thinking about this , not so that i can be more successful or making more money, but because i want to do some things that are interesting , but yet at the same time , time consuming. And yeah , my hair needs some work as well. And so does my living room. Its a mess now.

I have never been a big fan of editing what i write. I believe that it needs to be spontaneous.I kind of had to take a backstep from this theory after a class that i attended today, conducted by one of the professors at the University.I do realize that i might have to start paying serious attention to any piece of writing unless its my under-read , overly narcissistic blog , which is exactly what i intend it to be anyway :D .

Distorted

I am not liking myself for the way i live my life. i see myself as a lazy, procrastinating , oversleeping toad with the worst phone on earth...
Ok, to get over the wierdness, let me explain the phone part first.

Amazingly enough, i have a record of owning the worst of phones / the phones getting the worst out of me..However may you look at it , our relationships have been pretty shaky. So i am not supposed to be surprised whenever a gadget of that sort i own decides to vibrate instead of giving off an alarm , or switch off /hang when it wishes to etc...So i blame my phone first !

Next . I used to pride myself for being a  " lazy smart ass" . I always thought that it is the way to be. Go lazy, take it easy and all that , and then finish the stuff i wanted in the very last minute. The part where i got it all mixed up was when it came to doing something that i liked. Now most of the things i like are done in the last minute too...This essentially means that my Graphics assignments get done on the last day, midnight etc etc..The book on rendering that i bought has been lying in the corner of my room for the past 3 weeks relatively untouched...All thanks to the lazy smart ass initiative going haywire. I need to stop it , and i do not know how .

I am not proud of who i am now. Really not .I need change ! and i need help ! :-/

Re-blogging

I just feel like i really need to vent out some of my frustrations out .. Coming into minnesota has been a wonderful experience so far, but as far as conversing ideas and thoughts out have been concerned , its not been so great. People obviously are a lot busier here than they were back in india, thanks to the million assignments and midterms and some kickass projects ( read "kickass" both ways).
Friends are hard to find. Its even harder to find replicas of friends. They just dont exist. Its the hardest to find someone better. Thats just wrong. Every place i seem to move to has brought up some kind of challenge or the other.I had to deal with a lot of immaturity killing when i moved to my college and then later on bangalore was more of a dealing with an angry man and a crazy man all put together , both of which eventually turned into a process of making some of my best friends.I would never regret a single experience i have had with them , even the bad ones , for those taught me a lot of things the good ones couldnt have. I might have whined and cried about some , but most definitely i can say that none of the learning i got from them felt like a compromise or change that i was forced to make. Now its that all over again. The initial part of adjusting with the surroundings, getting to know the people , giving them credit instead of lambasting them with sarcasm from day one (though the intention is just to have fun or whatever...sarcasms bad no ?), being rude for fun, acting lazy and whiney just to get some attention (i almost never do that.only when i am hungry.).
Its just new life all over again,a lil painful , but with a few benefits as well ( new professors, awesome guys to work with, some fun people and cycling in the city).

PS : I have made this decision to stick to the blog rather than fb for venting anything or everything.FB distracts too much no ?

May fly

I go after it,
that which i cannot have
that which they do not understand,
forced to live my life
that no one else would choose
rebel,a vile soul,they call me,
it echoes
past me and all around
my foes...
stand still, watch me
laugh out loud,
i stare at myself..
i am the empty cloud
devoid a silver lining..
but then,i dream to myself
vanishing into thin air
into the vanilla sky
a day has gone past
and i am a may fly....

That was just a dream.

may be you ll understand
may be you ll see.
come one day and tell me
that was just a dream
walk on , lifes new again
its not us , and not who we are
but what we were , and that was not us
they were ones lost,surrounded
with fake tears and laughs all around.
Confused and imbued with anger and hate
with mind snared and tangled in gossamers
with life taking its daily toll,
with life singing long lullabies,
we slept away our time in ignorance
we cried away our anger in tears,
we wilted in the sun and the summer days
summer days brought us love, from many ways.
We paid no heed to wat we had,
We owed no deed to each other,
constrained by love, and that which was aplenty,
the deed was forgot,
and so were you.

IT MIGHT GET LOUD

IT MIGHT GET LOUD is a documentary that involves the story of 3 guitarists , the Rock legend Jimmy Page , blues/punk guitarist Jack White and the ever resonating guitarist of U2 , EDGE. The movie brings together these guitarists and covers their take on how these guys managed to pick up a guitar one day , and just could not put it down for their times to come. Jimmy page is a standing god for me in this documentary , and he is one very sweet englishman who plays some rollicking riffs..even in his late 60s  !

Watch it if you like the sound of the guitar !

The Nightingale - K.S.Chitra

The nightingale of Kerala, and beyond doubt deserves to be called the nightingale of the south as well. She was someone that i have been listening to since i was 5 , and because of this i took her class for granted. But it was yesterday that , after a long time happened to chance upon her number from Ada , called "Tu Mera Hai".There are lines in this song that usually transcend the vocal range of many singers, and those that transcend the ability of the left over ones to enhance such high octaves with their singing prowess.Chitra ji seemed to have thrived on it.She seems to be capable of creating moods out of pitches that usually only are an "endpoint" or a "threshold" that most singers seem to just achieve. If anyone does come close to her in such skills,it can only be Janaki amma and well to some extent Sunidhi Chauhan.Chitra reigns there. She undoubtedly is the most suave and the most skilled, with absolutely airs about it. Bollywood, you miss her big time.

It has been a long and harrowing year for her because of the loss of her daughter.Hoping that god will be kind to her soon.

In love with the wrong woman

She crossed many a mile

by my road side

crossed my door,

my glass windows

looked through,

stared at me,

playing my grand piano.

She stood ,she mused,

she wondered,

on a dreamy night sky,

she stared right up,

wished at a shooting star that had streaked by.

I walked across the street,

walked by the 7th avenue,

the roses smelled so sweet.

She knew that i was there

and she smiled a smile,

and i looked on ,speechless

as Mrs alexandra, smiled back

walking on , the fragrance turned to rot,

and i cringed,

walked back ,looked out through the window sil..

Relapse

Awake..
i watch em walk by
and the cars by the fly by
lives move on ,
and mines a paused tape
no sound,musics too far away.
Everyday is new
and every yesterday is old
they say look at your future ,
and forget your past ,let it go cold
I see none of em, and i dont understand what they say
everywhere i look ,
i wince in dismay
this world seems alien
every single passing day
let my soul go to the devil
come whatever may.
this is just a dream
this is life no sing a long
no matching steps no rules
no fate to chase , win or lose
clinging on to hope ,before the dreams too real
clutching my eyes shut, before the abberations reveal
that ,the my days are too old,the old days are too cold
and i stand with my soul not yet sold.

ego

Its not very often that the ego in you takes over..but when it does..it kills..real bad.

A lucky Man

I shall curse you
my fate, u never pulled me through
teasing me around every other day
made me a promise that was never kept
you never see me plead even if they may
You are not going to win
every one of your battles
come what may
You are not the greatest of my sins
though i can blame you
for every sin that makes someone else pay
For you are not alone
Not now , nor never
You shall surrender to thee
Me , my whims,my lust, my sins.

Abstract as on May 3rd.

Its almost an end of a day and all my thoughts seem to have drained
out through the sieves of boredom and distractions. Its as normal as
any other day can get. Not too many events, no memories, a lot of no
nothings.A lot of unwanted clutter and hidden beneath em all a couple
of jewels that most definitely fade and lose their sheen with time. How
many of them are worth keeping i wonder. So many memories , so many
moments,so many relations,so many chats.I wonder where this all would
end.I wonder if i would put em all in a jar and label any one of em as
unforgettable ,and if anyone else would would put my name in there
too.A long-term relationship with memories and long term memory
serving relationships...sounds too complicated to be worried
about.Every guys dream..a long term relationship..hehe.. I think i ll
just let that happen and go wherever my soul takes me.

Source/Album

Led Zeppelin - Remasters

Must Listen Track List

(Part 1)

1.   Achilles Last Stand
2.   All of My love
3.   Babe Im Gonna Leave you
4.   Dyer Maker
5.   Dazed and Confused
6.   In the evening
7.   Kashmir
---------------------------------------------------

( Part 2 )

8.   No Quarter
9.   Nobodys fault but mine
10. Ramble On
11. The Song Remains the same
12. Stairway to Heaven
13. Trampled Underfoot
14. Whole Lotta Love

This is an absolutely rollicking list of 14 top songs in this album..yes , right ! 14 top songs ! This album/compilation is an absolute worth an absolute go get ! I am not sure if this was an official release by Led Zeppelin or not , but if you are someone who has heard of the band and is looking for some of their best, then this is the right place to start ! The quality of the mastering is also good , and really shows through in some of the songs like Dyer Maker.

Before i review the tracks , I would like to thank my college friend Manjunath for intro-ing me to Led Zepps music.I am so not regretting it! I hope you dont (or arent ) too. If you are , then god save you.

The Remasters compilation brings together a whole array of songs , composed diversely, under different arrangements, and most importantly in different times. It gives an insight into how the music of Led Zeppelin jumps from their earlier guitar heavy /vocal heavy nature to more eclectic/subtle composition oriented numbers (say , like Kashmir)

1.Achilles Last Stand - This is more of an instrumental/bass and guitar driven number that you can only see led zeppelin do.Why you ask ? Coz only robert plant can sing like jimmy paiges guitar ! The incredible bass lines, stellar guitaring and the grooviest drumming by John Bonham takes this song to super-grooviness , and then Robert Plant takes over and transforms the trance into nirvana in ways only he can do with his sound box :).

2.All Of My Love - This  boy burns down to the synthesizers .. Its all John Paul Jones and Plant here. The drum has not been overplayed (and very cleverly avoided to preserve the feel of the song).Jimmy paige pitches in with those guitars that can turn any song into nirvana.Must be heard to be appreciated. In my book , its one of Led Zeps best works for sure

3.Babe Im Gonna Leave You - There are only a few songs in this world that will grab you like no other. This song is one of them.It makes you realize that someone like Plant was destined to meet Jimmy Paige. And thank god that Jimmy Paige knew about John Bonham and oh thank god that John Paul Jones had decided not to choose studio sessions over band jam sessions. This song is it .This song has led zeppelin all over it.Every note from the guitar , every improvised phrase from Plant.Every thumping snare beat from Bonham and every carefully played bass note from Jones. This is led zepp at its best.So effortlessly conveying it through a very tough to replicate music.Music that is Led Zepp ,and will remain so.

4.   Dyer Maker - This one is a very soft number by the band,in the lines of other numbers like Fool in the Rain and All Of My Love. The rendition by plant is top notch and he makes you believe that no else can even have an attempt at the subtle attempt at the nuances and highs that he takes us through this song. The song is Plant himslef and as you keep listening , you might start wondering whether Led Zepp songs can be covered by anyone else at all , with the same ferocity and emotions.Paige plays on this track like a master craftsman, performing a similar role to a jazz drummer who lets the leading instrumentalists take stage and covers the subtle nuances.Subtle, yet brilliant.
5.   Dazed and Confused -
This is a percussionists melody. And Plant butts in as well. Its kinda hard to stop Plant from butting in at any place in any song, coz that boys got some voice. The whole melody and the feel of the song is carried by plant , and John Bonham drives the slow, painful feel with some brilliant wrist work and intelligent rolls on the drums.Jimmy paige takes over at the end with the most soul tearing guitar licks that you would ever hear. The song starts slowly and to a fitting end that would leave you with just one single agenda..Repeat !
6.   In the evening -
This is by far my favourite led zeppelin song.Through this song , I have learnt that Rock and roll neednt always be loud, there neednt be a structure to the vocals , and no stanzas ! Plant is a master here.he knows when the riffs are moving , when the rolls are coming adn when the drummer is going to break .I am not sure if its all improvisation, but even if programmed that way , it would take some creativity to keep a song like this going on one single riff (Jimmy ? how ? ) , and still keep it interesting.John Bonham needs no mention.Hes a hero already, and he keeps upto his legendary standards.
7.   Kashmir
- Time to thank Jones again ( pianist/ and almost every other non-guitar and non-drum instrumentalist) for the arrangement. The song starts of with a rollicking score to start with and thumping percussions.Haunting vocals by Plant and the orchestra like arrangement makes this song a very sumptous listening experience.More dynamic than any of the older led zepp counterparts. The song also has a very indianish feel to it , although i suspect that it could be any other local folk flavour as well. The experimental nature of the song, renders itself beautifully ,given the fact that most other led zeppelin songs are nothing like it.You will definitely enjoy this one.

Will there be peace on earth ?

This question , among a million other trillion vicious circle creating problems ( like say the chicken-egg-chicken-egg-chicken-egg..) has been asked and analysed by a million jobless philosophers ,students, politicians ( analysis courtesy their personal secretaries mostly),scientists, jobless retards after a drink, man trying to show off his la-passion to the country to impress a woman and countless more...most of em ending up in a diplomatic  "GOD KNOWS " , "IT IS POSSIBLE IF PEOPLE TRY" and " IF AMERICA TRIES" and "IF THE SUN SETS IN THE EAST" etc...

But for me , the  answer is a blatant  " NO "

Before u slam this window shut ! I got reasons too !

1. EGO - we are an egoistic kind.We like to defend ourselves. If you are saying "NO" ..well then  , holy art thou..but then , i DO have an EGO.I like to defend myself , and so do many others..SO well established..WE all like to stick to our opinions.
2.Pseudo Nationalism Disorder - This i tell you, though very admirable and innocent and going for the right causes included, is a stupid emotion that most people would rather not introspect on.Coz , if they love their country , they think that its enuf that its left there. No one wants to go deeper into why they love it..Well fucking obviously u love it for the people and the places u have there , and not for the statistics on " how many pakis did indian soldiers grill last weekend at the LOC".So , people who will fucking kill themselves / pakistanis for upkeeping nationalism ratings will play the "LOSERS" or spoilsport.Mind you, they are very passionate and true to what they think. They are not wrong to do so.But just coz something is right doesnt mean that it serves the bigger purpose.Stupidity shall prevail here forever coz non-rationalistic emotions will always dominate introspection and abstaining from an over-reacton (like AAHH..all those pakki terrorists !!! - even if u knew that they werent all terrorists :)) .
3.Ignorance - Enuf said, we are most definitely unaware of our ignorance..Like not believing / in fact ignoring facts like a terrorist having a mom and a daughter who they love very much.A man who has lost everything and is ready to do anything to get it back.Or confusing muslim preachings to ethical cleansing.Killing out christianity in the name of the prophet.Killing muslims in the name of "Hindutva" etc.
4.Confusing personal vengeance for a nationalist agenda - If an army man gets killed , and army man can get another one killed. If an innocent gets killed,an innocent can kill another...But why kill a million innocent for the sake of one ? Y kill a million innocent for the sake of a million army men ? Y kill a million army men for the sake of 10 dictators ? Are we blind ? When will we wake up ?
5.Restlessness - We cant subside to the fact that war breeds war.Vengeance breeds vengeance.Everyone has the right for it . Every terrorist , every innocent.Still why dont we stop killing ?
6.Nascence - We as humans are a million years old.But as a civilization we are very nascent.Hopefully in a million years , we would either wipe ourselves out completely or act like we were born as a civilization and not like we are playing " survival of the fittest"

Adios :)

XPS 15

I was planning on buying an XPS 15 , DELL this month.I check the site for an update on the prices and i see that it has stopped sellin them on the site.Alarmed a lil bit by this , i called up the DELL call centre and found that it is only a temporary halt in sales and its going to be back up as soon as DELL can meet up with the huge demands for the product.

I rested my hopes on the 15" series Inspiron and decided to check it out at the DELL store nearby. To my disappointment, i found the build quality worse than the DELL Studio 15.The sales person at the shop told me that XPS 15 is out of the market for good. This wasnt working well for me.I decided to trust the call center guy instead..

On googling out for the XPS 15, i found this link , which makes matters worse .Looks like DELL is playing demand increases , price increases game here.If they are , it is as cheap as they can get.Smart asses.

The Stare Paradox

So m in a 500c.Its what you call a volvo that goes from ITPL to Banashankari. The bus was pretty okay in terms of crowd. You could see anyone sitting a 10 -15 metres away from your seat.So this would directly be the hypothetical ladies seat in the bus. (its hypothetical because there is no seat marked ladies in the volvo bus.But you would always find a great concentration of ladies only in these 8 seats located towards the anterior side of the bus).
The next thing that follows when you usually sit in a bus involves looking around for anything interesting , be it outside the window or inside the bus.And its kind of imperative that , if you find a cute girl in it , you would not be able to stop taking momentary glances at her. This doesnt essentially mean checking out the chick from top to bottom.
I have done only a handful of portraits ( 2 to be precise). This was done when i was an absolute noob ( now m not absolute...kinda relative u can say) .And the next aim it to shoot a feminine one (i swear that its an obsession that most boys have ) .So when you see a pretty girl, you are pushed to prolong those staring glance seconds window by a couple of seconds. It is a little unfair if anyone out there calls me a pervert here.Come on ! I was just checking the light on her face and how it would look in a studio. You know , how much her nose would need to be hidden to avoid her from looking like a piglet and how much the curls of her hair would complement her long face..and all that ?? !! ? no ?

Its hard to tell this to some guy who thinks that you are better off begging in the streets than pursuing photography ( even i feel the same way sometimes..but m up on my confidence usually).I chose the hard way and got a reply which was as good as the answer to "machaa can i borrow your LOTR book ?? " . Yes the answer was " go f**k urself".Hmm..Now i am on the verge of giving up this activity, especially since the girl reacted by changing her seat from facing me to me facing her duppatta over her head....

And wait !! Its not like girls dont want to be stared at . They like it . And its not like m gonna follow her around or m doing it with my mouth half open..Its not ! You girls should be ashamed of yourselves !!

But for now . i guess its just staring at pretty models in flickr...

7 Khoon Maaf - Different .Loved it !

Vishal Bharadwaj is known as a director for his brilliant adaptation of classics...A lot of people have not read them ( my roomie has ) , but still , they seem to like em, simply because of the earnest ferocity in the plot of such movies....

Othello aka Omkara , is one of his noticeable hits , and well ,no one can mistake Saif Ali Khans performance nor Ajay Devgans for bad acting. It was simply one helluva multi-starrer with the characters blending in magnificently with the star charisma.

Then came along Kaminey ,with some very snazzy ( i dunno wat else to call it) cinematography and some surrealist ,if not Quentin Tarantinoish , but yet still western stylish narration and a very stylish actor in Shahid Kapoor along with a very earthy yet glamorous priyanka chopra. No one hated that movie either.Prolly coz the music was good and all was forgivable as long as there was some love interest in teh background and some manly action in the foreground (and plenty of horse riding.no pun intended.)

It was yet another turn for Vishal Bharadwaj to do something different...And he chose fiction/fantasy or whatever you call it.So much fantasy, so dark in ways that can either make you feel some kind of sympathy for the protagonist or hate her for her lack of respect for human life.Well whatever it might be, it was one bold move.Suzanna is one hell of a character. You cant explain what she does. She couldnt be real.Even if you do try to portray her with the most complicated state machine diagrams (cause->effect), you are going to fail incredibly....

Unless..

You start believing that it is possible for a person to sincerely love someone and believe that they have all rights on that person.Treachery is a sin and any sinner needs punishment. This reminds me of a line from the movie itself, where the protagonist is said to have been someone " who kills mad dogs rather than leave them alone" . This virtue( i dont think i should call it that. But in the context of the movie , it is definitely forgivable to call it so), that the protagonist has , has been so wonderfully portrayed in every way possible. The camera work in this movie is slightly on the darker side. Why not , no one is here to see the faces.! Priyanka chopra expresses herself beautifully. Not once does she look to be falling out of her character at any point of time. The make up is brilliant (and odd at times) , and the score is haunting..Im not much of a man who can judge the direction of the movie , but i thought that this was awfully well put together, though the sequential treatment of the timeline could have been avoided to reduce the boredom factor.Only someone incredibly absorbed in the depth of the characters would ideally be pleased in watching this.

PS : This is not a movie that everyone will like.So in a popular ratiing system ( call it the TOI rating), the movie is a 3 starrer. This is just because most people like movies with the oomph factor/ an entertainment quotient. This movie needs to be treated with respect ..If you start empathizing with the character in the movie, you might end up liking it , otherwise i would kinda feel sorry for you :D .

Photograph-her ! (2)

My sis takes insane pics sometimes. This time she has taken one helluva black and white.Daarn ! Shez good ...

- Rock on sissy ! :P

insane swings.

Lately, i have been working a little overtime with myself. a  little too critical about everything i do and of course that involves a lot of re-examinations.Not a great fan of doing it , but the people around me make me feel like i should stop and look at whatever it is that i am about to do .

Freedoms taken on a whole new meaning for me. People are creepy at times. Not that i am complaining. Its just that college was awesomer :) .

And god , thank you for John bonham.and no thank you for making him die in his own puke.

When we love.

There was a time , when i had some questions regarding what real love was , or what real selfless love was.It obviously , is a real dicey topic to talk about. But however my senior Milind took it up with some real seriousness, instead of giving me a condescending smirk, along with a "why the hell do you sound doped".He told me a story of a girl and a boy which went like this .

The boy was given 10 chocolates by the girl and in return he gave her back 10 marbles. The girl told the boy that "if i really love you , i would never open the box of marbles ,and if it is the same with you , you will never open it either.Lets see how long we can keep the marbles until we know its true " .

The boy gets excited and he says Ok.

In the night , he starts to fear if the girl really loves him / was fooling around with him. He suspects that she might eat all his chocolates and fool him the next day.He goes and checks with her and sees that she was speaking the truth.

The next day the girl shows up crying , and asks him " i saw you at the window peeking...what the hell were you doing ! " ...

Love is the same..

Brood on... :)

Fwd: As you saw,so shall you perceive

A human mind is so freaking vast that it can either interpret this statement to be the "futile attempt of a defunct brain to show off its linguistic capabilities","an attempt to accentuate nothingness" or infact "attempt to accentuate the bizzare nature of the topic , and how surprised the author is with it".Interpret it your way.

Before i go into self recursive, mildly (hugely) digressing explanations within explanation, lemme tell you what i am trying to talk about. We all have perceptions and we all have our own ways of defining what each and everything in this world is , and our own opinions about how it actually should be..Sometimes , even the most usual of circumstances seem strange to us , and the most unusual extremely mundane and boring.Thats what makes WE,the world - so united in diversity ,and so fucking volatile at the same time.

Gandhiji once said that (i dont remember the exact quote from his book - "My experiments with truth") - "I will forgive a man who hurts and hits me , and hope that god will forgive him for his narrow mindness, because he sincerely belives that what he is doing is right and only so because of lack of understanding " .

It seems so unfair that something you sincerely believe in,gets bashed up by your best friend sometimes....Makes you question everything around you.Its no mean thing to understand each other is it ? Think again ...

-- I am definitely bedazzled by the wide array of opinions that people have, and sometimes , it makes me doubt mine or may be , redefine mine.Men are confusing..Women are more confusing ofcourse :P

Love/Friendship

There is no love , no friendship. One heart talking to another. And they decide to talk forever.

Unwind

Life it is ,
Life it was
Never saw it change
blank canvas
I let myself out
Spilled myself on it
Let people watch,
Scorn and scowl upon it
Could have been ugly,
this projection of me,
its me nevertheless,
it was for you to see
watch it if you like,
else please leave,
this is my life,
let me live.
