Headphone Miracle

Just realised that fixing a headphone can be as easy as blowing a nice clean breath of " fresh " "clean " air into the soundholes.I know you are going to start wondering what the problem was.No , it wasnt the dandruff /earwax stuck on its surface / yesterdays lunch /dinner or the likes, i know you think m being crazy by suggesting such a solution, but Iff (if and only if ) your headphones have a bass distortion problem , with teh bass sounding like a DJ turntable gone on a not so pretty merry go round ride / like your maid sweeping an entire floor stuck with sandpaper -- Please try this method.IT MIGHT JUST WORK.COZ IT WORKED FOR ME..

 1. Landmark - For replacing my babies (senheisser earphones ) ,who had a low bass tolerance , twice ! (these might have worked with my current invention ), inspite of spoiling the second one in a matter of 3 days (bass soemhow was busted).

 2.Senheisser , you guys rock.Please keep making such brilliant,affordable (800 bucks flat ! ) earphones with such supreme bass definition.I know, some guys are gonna tell you that bose is the best and bass aint so good in large quantities etc etc..but dont listen to them.BOSE headphones had shit for bass when i plugged them into my economy mp3 player.

 3.Shankar Ehsaan Loy - Thanks to you .Otherwise i would have never bought these babies :) ..

 4.To my babies (aka earphones ) -- Please keep playin those wonderful tunes.Thanks for introducing me to true bass and Naresh Kamath . I would have never noticed it on the Philips.

I consider myself extremely privileged/lucky/very very lucky to have met Mr Mithun Puthanveetil, Drummer, Avial. :) :) :)

 

Avial had come down to Kyra , Indira Nagar,Bangalore for performing this Sunday Oct 25th and well , they blew us all away with their performance.Truly masterclass band with amazing compositional skills.

-- Along with their usual mindblowing Karukara,Nada Nada,Aadu Pambe , they also managed a fusion between the karnatic "Alaipayuthey Kanna" and the trademark avial sound.The singer Jyotsna (not the mallu fat woman :P .She was new to the circuit i think ) , blew everyone away with her mature and sweet brilliantly pitched (classical singers are so good at that) , rendition of the song :).Mindblowing...

 

-- The singer tony john went like this on the amazing 10 minute outro of this song -- " ari vachathu mathiyo ? ... njangal ethra venamengilum ari vekkum..." means " u think its cooked enuf (the rice ) ...? we can keep on cooking (rice , rice == ari ) ) .. #commonmalluexpression :P.

-- Rex and Benny (i think tat was the basists name ..sorry benny if tats not ur name :P ) , wer amazing..they too seemed blown away by jyotsnas prowess...

 

--- Totally amazing band given the fact taht they enjoy the music they play SOOO MUCH ! they can just play on and on and on ! The drummer must be doing like 150 pushups a day or something for staminna like tat !

 

 

Needless to say, my all time fav drummer (after lars of corz ..i v been following him on the headphones for 1 whole year ! ) , stood before me smiling, no celebrityness showing anywhere round his vicinity, and i went GA GA GA....Truly an inspiration he is and i hope i can play like that someday..

 

FK ALL THE MARKERS IN THIS WORLD AND FK BALL POINT PENS that dont write on wood...Otherwise i could have managed and autograph on my sticks also :( ....

Wake up SID !

Yes , it was a nice movie.Very cute.Konkana is 27 in the movie..a lot lesser than she looks ,but atleast they made it a point that shes approachin middle age . Lovely.
Sid is a kid in the movie.Fails exams.Very Karan Johar type character.Exclusive Ranbir kapoor stuff added.Nice acting.Ranbir kept me hooked to the movie.Loved the music.Iktara is a mindblowing number.(i think its credits to amit trivedi - Dev D fame) . The rest of the songs by Shankar Ehsaan Loy ,as usual are all very elegant and simple.Hoping that i can pull some stuff off , like the Life is crazy acoustic guitar solo.Somehow getting a feeling that these day,s the hindi music industry has started becoming very friendly with the unplugged , concert like productions.Not much of the pritam-bollywood-style being seen among Shankar-Ehsaan -Loy and the others.

Kudos to Karan Johar , for sticking to his traditional style.Atleast , he is not claiming that he makes real movies :).Somehow, i still dont think that Wake up Sid got all that cute as it was inteneded to be, esp coz the plot seemed to be lacking .We all knew where the movie was gonna end....No complaints though.I think it was worth watching . :)

-- Interesting how K Jo makes sure that every hero/heroine in his movies has atleast one Fat friend.Wondering if he thinks that doing it makes the movie realistic.

ODE to my super roomie

This one goes out to my super roomie.
It was as usual a very cold and lazy morning.Woke up , slept of again,took a bath ,got out for the office, only to find my mobile missing.......
Me being the ultimate fighting machine in top shape ready to run after a speeding merc at a 100kmph, decided not to waste so much adrenaline and energy for such a feudal purpose..i already have the internet, mom doesnt call in the morning , i have no girl friends who call me on my phone and hence no dependency issues till 6 pm.No need to rush tiger..just rush to the office and give mr roomie a call..Exactly what commenced was exactly wat was planned and exactly wat my roomie said was not so exactly as planned.Plan A - down in the dumpster dead and buried (kudos to Sidhu ji. )

Found out a good 30 minutes later that Mr Roomie actually went all the way back to the flat to get my cellphone after climbing a good 120 steps or so.Wow ! and well.That too back from the exact same place i was when i had decided to give it a skip.Now thats being a roomie..

SO , now i have a super maid and a super roomie... :) :)

Wake up Shreck! - the viv effect !

K , i know , this like one of the most fd up cliche ,overly used ,rarely taken for a sensible , subbject..just like the movie is ,atleast as far as i heard from my sis and Vivek ,who incidentally has something similar for the topic of his blog -- that its almost like a mix of many bollywood movies with lakshya being the main chunk of the concept..and well ican find similarities from the trailers too...and well some obvious dissimilarities i cant seem to explain..

 

Well teh similarities are too overwhelmingly unoverwhelming..so here i go with my dissimilarity list...

 

Dissimilar --

1. Ranbir kapoor stands up on his leather covered car seat ,takes off his shirt and waves like andrew flintoff (he has the patent since he did it first and not saurav..sorry DADA)..Hrithik never did..M wondering WHY , esp since that would have fetched him a john Rambo status in lakshya...

-- Men Taking off clothess...Karan johar Effect i SAY.. :P.

2.Ranbir Kapoor, k lets just call him Sid .ya tats the second difference!..the names ! good goin.they dint totally copy lakshya :P

3.Thirdly, of cors (it must have been secondly but for the awesome secondly tat icame up within a matter of seconds ) ,Ranbir Kapoor falls for Konkona sen, the fat looking TV reporter /journalist/writer (i agree tat shes a good actress..but shes not playing an actress in the movie.I think hence tat my point is justified in saying tat shes not apt for the role.esp since shes staring against a 18 yr old kid... )--- INSPITE OF BEING A PHOTOGRAPHER !! isnt tat somehow an irony..? or is he tryin too hard to see beauty everywhere... m confused..

-- Karan Jo Bhai, does not seem to be interested in girls at all...get me a heroine ! and stop playin them down .. !! (feel bad for priyanka chopra in DOSTANA too..except for some very good scenes :P ) --

 But , Hrithik did alrite wit preity in Lakshya..Kudos to Farhan. :)

4.And last but not the least...something good atleast...is the presence of Amit Trivedi in the form of Iktara.a very soothing song..seems to have been sung by Shankar Mahadevan in the chorus....

 

== waiting to watch this movie.nd hopefully all these will mean nothing after that . hopefully no gay stuff as well :P

AMP-mU-TED !

It was only me to blame...an amp in the place of the mic would have done wonders..just so FD up....y cant they keep an amp and y was i so overconfident that there would be a mic stand / an amplifier / a monitor in a corporate get together party..man, this isnt a rock concert !. .

 

 

Stupids learn atleast..so here is to my learning spree...

 

Devoted to the lacklustre performance by me....absence of a mic stand.and lots more...Kudos to the singer though.she was fantastic..
