Wake up SID !

Yes , it was a nice movie.Very cute.Konkana is 27 in the movie..a lot lesser than she looks ,but atleast they made it a point that shes approachin middle age . Lovely.
Sid is a kid in the movie.Fails exams.Very Karan Johar type character.Exclusive Ranbir kapoor stuff added.Nice acting.Ranbir kept me hooked to the movie.Loved the music.Iktara is a mindblowing number.(i think its credits to amit trivedi - Dev D fame) . The rest of the songs by Shankar Ehsaan Loy ,as usual are all very elegant and simple.Hoping that i can pull some stuff off , like the Life is crazy acoustic guitar solo.Somehow getting a feeling that these day,s the hindi music industry has started becoming very friendly with the unplugged , concert like productions. Not much of the pritam-bollywood-style being seen among Shankar-Ehsaan -Loy and the others.

Kudos to Karan Johar , for sticking to his traditional style.Atleast , he is not claiming that he makes real movies :).Somehow, i still dont think that Wake up Sid got all that cute as it was inteneded to be, esp coz the plot seemed to be lacking .We all knew where the movie was gonna end....No complaints though.I think it was worth watching . :)

-- Interesting how K Jo makes sure that every hero/heroine in his movies has atleast one Fat friend.Wondering if he thinks that doing it makes the movie realistic.

Dil Se..re re rewatchin .. (sha sha sharukhs only good one)

I love the photography in this movie.Lighting so subtle, smooth shadows, beautiful faces just barely illuminated to show their outlines.May be the photographer meant it in an art movie kinda way or something i donno. It made the movie look more beautiful than it might have been, had it been shot by some bollywood karan jo photographer.
What is worth watching is how the photography slowly keeps you more and more hooked to the movie. The way it portrays the beauty of the scenery around, the subtle dialogues all the more complementing the careful picturization of very delicate , silent scenes. If you really do watch this movie , and especiall if more than once , you will observe that it is the silent and subtle scenes between manisha and shah-rukh that keeps the spirit of the movie alive. The credit definitely goes to Santosh Sivan for that. And obviously hats off to Maniratnam too.

I do not indend to turn this into a draggin movie review.Just thought that i might share what i exactly like about this movie. On its 20th or so re run.Watch it if you havent already.
If you are a fan of photography /anything visual , do tell me if this felt like shit to you.

Will just leave you with some stuff that i liked.

Awesome scenes with very little lighting include:
--- The scene where Manisha meets Shah-rukh in the AIR studio.Only the viewing hole forms the single source of illumination.
---- Shah-Rukh in the AIR studio again, illuminated by a single table lamp , in the Aye ajnabi song.Awesome.

Fact :: People look a lot younger with lesser lighting..... :) .Preity looks 15... :P

Shitty Scenes ::
The stunts in the movie somehow, i felt brought out the monotony of the camera work.Very little of what existed though.Scary !

Y didnt u like it ?

Saw two great movies today. One , a malayalam one ,named "Thirakadha" and then the hindi one called "Delhi 6".
Thirakadha was simply mind blowing only because it was told to me by my mom that it really resembled the life story of the late actress (great actress rather ) Srividya. I really found it hard to contemplate the fact that she might have also gone through such great extents of pain and loss in her life as well.

Delhi 6-
This was something that my friends had not recommended to me.Frankly , i thought that rakeysh Omprakash Mehra might have gone a little nuts this time by over doing his second movie and hence might have attracted such "rave" reviews. But then , i was wrong ......."THEY" (:P) were wrong rather. The movie was just absolutely great ! i just loved it.It was a credible effort by the director to bring forth such a sensitive subject in such a credible and novel manner. If you ask me 10/10 for the spirit of this movie and i think thats all that matters.

And Sonam Kapoor looks good in this as well ;) ....
