Truly deserving is an understatement.Well and truly deserving is wells and wells away from over stating it....Simply put it was long overdue.Genius sometimes,takes time to be found..(U know they found me after more than a million years of civilization :P ).A R Rahman long deserved it.A hundred no a thousand no , a million times over..naah much more than that.One of the best days for Indian music,lovers of music,lovers of Rahman,believers in god,believers in love,hard work,devotion,dedication,art lovers,misery lovers,lovers in misery,people trying to find love in misery,people overwhelmed by the love that his music oozes..
Something powerful enough to touch a million lives in one way or the other,something powerful,so powerful enough,to touch each and every string of thought that passes through the listeners heart when he perfectly melts in with his divine melody.Divine intervention ,panacea you name it,he has it.
Hoping he can cleanse the whole world now,with his music...Let the rhythm live on and let the heart keep beating to it.

Try Sigur Ros, or ENIGMA my man...and then you shall know what real music is.
I am not saying Rahman is not good or anything, I am saying there are musicians much better than him.
c tats wer u r wrong.. ucan say " accd to me sigur ros is better " ...rahmans purpose in ths wrld is different nd sigur ros's is different...Comparing musicians wont help..btw i think enigma is great.technically.technologically advanced.but i enjoy it more when thers a rahman touch to it :P
