"Music review " - 2 .Gajini...

All u need to know :
Starring : Aamir Khan
Music : A R Rahman

This has gotta be done big time.. !

1.Guzarish... Well what can i say,A R Rahman shows you how to play on the santoor at the intro and then eases you into the ever so melodic trance melody which seems all too easy for him.Though, when it comes to this song, what i really liked is the interludes and the diversion he comes up after the first interlude. The humming in this song is just brilliant and both techno/electronic music has been easily blended with the santoor.Typical A R number. You will love it anyway.... :P
Also.i think the rendering is being done by Javed Ali...Its absolutely brilliant.Nothin more nothin less.He seems to be as good as sonu nigam ....
P S : It seems that in this album especially, the electronic voiced version of the synthesizer has been used extensively....similar to the maaricham song and some vintage a r songs...i loved it.. ! I donno wat its called, maybe next time i will find the actual name for it.

Also...try to listen to the bass going in the background..really gives u a nice feeling...

2.Aye Bachu : Well the start is like..mmm say..Jaan mein Dum from the movvie,,,DUM...yes reminds me of it a lot.The beginnin guitar lick also reminds me of the song nazrein milaana...The riff in the background is pretty persistent and the song is largely bent towards a constant set of instruments..Like typical rock music you can say. There is a lil bit of nice bass thrown here and there and some nice guitar. But overall...theres no real melody.Looks like this song was forced out of him..
Not his best. You are free to disagree..

:(

3.Kaise Mujhe tum Mil gayee- The same can be said about the song also...Feelin extremely privileged to be listening to this song.A long time since i ve heard something so hi pitched and so melodic.Simple beats in the background (by rahman standards..) and amazing backing vocals by A R Rahman. The female voice entry is absolutely brilliant with some interesting blend of string voices ( its veena wit some distortion i think..correct me if wrong..).The singer ,she really does sound like an angel.
Though i think, the female part could have been a lil more cheerful.Sometimes the sadness just creeps into you.The first time i heard the song , the female vocals seemed to be a lil on the minor notes. But after repeated listenings its sounding great.
bottomline : A R Rahman,GOD,OWNS ...!!!!

P S : listen fr the synth/electronic sound here too...starts and ends with this sound..wat is it called i wonder.

4.Behka : Tricky...starts with some vinyl distortion and some catchy beats. And yea there are some nice off beats...awesome..and how the whole song maps to this beat is just brilliant.!! totally awesome..something A R ,once again.....owns in...
Then.....theres an electric guitar playin some typical bassy chords and baam....a sax comes in...and takes you with it...u r wondering where this song started from and then it just plants you back at where you start from....A R rahman magic happens and then all you know is tat theres some rock being played...Ya that was confusin...Tats a r fr you.Hard to explain pleasure to hear.
LIsten to this..you will love it...!!

5.Latoo : Starts of with some mixed up stuff about man landin on the moon...and suddenly jumps to a la la coco jumbo enviroonment. Then there is Mauja hi mauja playin. But A R style...........Quite catchy but not really good enough.Loads of techno and stuff thrown in and some good drums too....Guess m not much of a party animal....Listen to it and judge.

6.Instrumental : kaise mujhe : Sounds awesome...Theres one comin with almost all ar albums these days. Its nice to listen to but i thot all the humming could have been replaced with instrumentals.Especially because A R is a master at it.He can make anything sing. Its definitely a soothing number for you to keep on when you are lazing off to bed .... just like me... :)
